Aquatics Center Policies

Aquatic Center

  • Swimming is allowed only when lifeguards are on duty.
  • Please shower before entering the pools.
  • Appropriate swimwear is required. Loose clothes are not permitted.
  • Hanging on lane ropes or basketball rims is prohibited.
  • During peak hours, pool patrons must share lanes and circle swim.
  • Use of rafts, tubes, and other flotation devices are allowed at the lifeguard’s discretion.
  • Diving is permitted in only seven feet of water or deeper.
  • Running and rough play are not allowed.
  • Spitting, spouting of water or blowing you nose in the pool is not allowed.
  • The pool shall not be operated during severe weather conditions.
  • Children shall not use the pool without the attendance of an adult. Adults must be within arm’s reach of children at all times.
  • Individuals with open sores, skin rashes, infectious diseases or discharges will not be permitted to enter the pool.
  • Children who are not toilet trained must wear snug fitting plastic pants or a water resistant swim diaper.
  • Glass articles are prohibited in or around the pool. Food, drink or wrappers shall not be permitted within 10 feet of the pool or whirlpool.
  • Please follow lifeguard and facility staff directions at all times.

Diving Board

  • Only one person at a time is permitted on the diving board and ladder.
  • Each person must wait until the proceeding diver has cleared the area before diving.
  • Divers must swim directly to the nearest ladder.
  • Only one bounce is permitted, except during supervised instructional activity.
  • Front dives and flips are allowed when facing forward at the end of the board. Cartwheels, back flips and handstands are prohibited.
  • Running on the diving board is not permitted.
  • Jumping off the diving board into the arms of another swimmer is not permitted.
  • Hanging off the end of the diving board is not permitted.

Whirlpool

  • Use of whirlpool is permitted when a lifeguard is on duty.
  • Appropriate attire must be worn.
  • Please shower before entering the whirlpool. Individuals with open sores, skin rashes, infectious diseases or discharges will not be permitted to enter the whirlpool.
  • After using the whirlpool, please shower prior to entering the pool.
  • Feet first entry only. Diving is prohibited.
  • Horseplay and inappropriate displays of public affection are not permitted.
  • Hot water exposure limits vary from person to person. Pregnant women, small children and those with health conditions such as, but not limited to: heart disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure should not enter the whirlpool without prior consultation and permission from their physician.
  • Use of the whirlpool is not permitted while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, other drugs or medication that may cause sleepiness and drowsiness or raise/lower blood pressure.
  • Use caution when in the whirlpool alone. Overexposure to hot water may cause nausea, dizziness and fainting. Lower water temperatures are recommended for extended use (exceeding 10 – 15 minutes) and for young children.
  • If the suction fitting is missing, broken or loose, use of the whirlpool will not be permitted.
  • Unsupervised use by children is prohibited.
  • Before entering, check the water temperature. Temperature should not exceed 104° F.
  • Enter feet first and exit slowly.
  • Breakable items are prohibited in or around the whirlpool.
  • Electrical appliances are never to be placed within five feet of the whirlpool.
  • The whirlpool shall not be operated during severe weather conditions.
  • Please follow lifeguard and facility staff directions at all times.

Sauna

  • A lifeguard must be on duty to use the sauna.
  • Exercise of any kind is prohibited in the sauna.
  • This is a dry sauna. Do not put any liquid on the rocks.
  • Appropriate attire is required in the sauna. Males must wear shorts or swim trunks, and females must wear a swimsuit or shorts and a top.
  • Horseplay and inappropriate displays of public affection are not permitted.
  • The sauna is restricted to use by CRI members 16 years of age or older.
  • SAUNA USERS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS:
    • Exit immediately if uncomfortable, dizzy or sleepy
    • Check with a doctor before using the sauna if pregnant, in poor health or under medical care.
    • Do not exceed 30 minutes in the sauna.
