Fall 2015 Club Spotlight – Southern Cheer

Congratulations to Southern Cheer for being named a Club Sport of the Month in the Fall 2015 semester! Club president, Lovey Edwards-Smith, was interviewed and offered some great information about the club.

  1. When was your club established at Georgia Southern University and what is the tradition your team has?
    • Our club was established in August of 2013 and before every competition we have a huge sleepover where we spend the entire night bonding and building each other up.
  2. Why do you like playing club sports at Georgia Southern University?
    • It is a great stress reliever and allows me to have fun with others who enjoy doing the same activities as me while representing my school.
  3. What is it like to travel and play different schools?
    • We don’t travel to different schools but we compete at different competitions against different schools and that experience is amazing because you get to meet new people.
  4. What is your best memory while playing in tournaments/competitions this semester?
    • Best memory we had was hitting our stunts that we worked so hard on.
  5. How does someone go about joining your team?
    • We have tryouts and they can contact any member on the team to set up an individual tryout.
  6. How can they find out more information? Are there tryouts?
    • Visit our website and our social media. Ig: gsusoutherncheer
  7. Does your team have any recent special achievements? If so, what are they?
