2017 – 2018 Membership Policies

Current members may download the Membership Renewal form. New members please visit the RAC Member Services desk in the lobby to join today. The Member Services desk is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.


Student Memberships

General Student

If a student is taking more than four on campus Georgia Southern hours, then a RAC fee should be automatically assessed to their account.

Non-Fee Paying Student

Students taking less than four on campus Georgia Southern hours are not charged the RAC fee and must purchase a membership to gain access to the facility. Current RAC memberships are:

  • $120 Fall Semester
  • $120 Spring Semester
  • $96 Summer Semester
Student Spouse/Partner

Student spouses/partners are eligible for membership at the annual rate of $336. To purchase a membership, the current student spouse/partner must be present and verify through university form, joint checking account and/or joint home or auto ownership and a current student ID.

Faculty/Staff Memberships

General Faculty/Staff

Georgia Southern University faculty/staff with a valid ID are eligible to purchase a RAC membership to utilize CRI facilities. The cost of the membership is $288 a year.

Faculty/Staff Spouses/Partners

Spouses of faculty, and staff are eligible to purchase a RAC membership that allows them access to CRI facilities. When purchasing a spouse/partner/dependent pass, the Georgia Southern student, faculty or staff member, must be present at the time of purchase with his/her Eagle ID. The cost of the membership is $336 a year.

Faculty/Staff Dependents

Faculty/staff are eligible to purchase memberships for their dependents. Dependents under 16 can utilize the RAC from 4:00pm on Friday until 6:00pm on Sunday. They have access from the first day of classes until the last day of exams during Fall and Spring semesters. The cost of this membership is $150 for a year and gives access to one dependent. While Georgia Southern students are on break or during Summer semester, children may use the facility during normal hours of operation. All children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult while using the facility. The cost of the membership is $50 a semester.


Age 16 – 25

Dependents 16 and older are still eligible for a regular membership. An ID with the same address as member, joint checking, and DOB required for verification.

Under 16

Under-16 dependent memberships are for weekends only and holiday hours (Friday after 4:00 pm-Sunday until 6:00 pm). The dependent must be accompanied by an adult member while using the facility.

Retired Faculty/Staff

Georgia Southern University faculty/staff retirees are eligible to purchase a membership to the RAC.

Retired Faculty/Staff Spouse/Partner

Retired faculty/staff spouses/partners are eligible for memberships that will give them access to CRI facilities. Proof of couple/partner/dependent status is required through a university form, marriage certificate, joint checking account home or auto ownership or other documentation verification. The cost of the membership is $144 for a year.

  • $50 Fall Semester

  • $44 Summer Semester

Guest Passes

The primary purpose for courtesy passes is to accommodate the friends and relatives of Georgia Southern University students and RAC members.

Secondary audiences for courtesy passes are:

  • University guests (such as workshop, short-term conference guests and University sponsored athletic camps)
  • or visiting faculty/staff.

In these instances arrangements for the guest must be made in advance through the Associate Director of Facilities & Fitness and proof of involvement of workshop, conference, etc. will need to be provided. Guest passes may be purchased at the Front Desk.

The cost of the guest pass will be covered by the guest at a rate of $7.00 per day. Payment will be made at the front desk upon entry and only accepted after a valid form of ID is shown.

Policies
  • University guests that would like to use the RAC, but have not been given a complementary guest pass must have the sponsoring department contact the Director of Facilities & Fitness for guest pass use.
  • Student, faculty, and staff members may bring 2 guests per day.
  • Guest passes may be purchased at the Front Desk.
  • Guests must sign a liability waiver form.
  • CRI reserves the right to approve or deny any guest pass transaction.
  • Members must check in at the same time as the guest and remain in the facility the entire time the guest is there.
    • Exceptions will be made for visiting faculty/staff hosted by a University department.
    • Members are responsible for the actions of their guests. If a guest does not adhere to the policies of CRI facilities, the member and guest may be asked to leave.
    • The sponsor’s current membership must be verified before allowed to purchase a guest pass.
    • The guest’s sponsor will be responsible for checking out any equipment and be held responsible for damages to equipment and/or facility caused by his/her guest(s).
  • Guests under 16 years of age are only allowed in the RAC on weekends during fall & spring semester (after 4:00pm on Fridays through 6:00pm on Sundays) and all day during the summer. They must be accompanied by an adult with a regular membership.
  • All guests (ages 16 & up) must have a photo driver’s license or government issued photo identification with address and proof of age unless guest is dependent or child..
    • Guests under 16 years of age are only allowed in the RAC on weekends during Fall & Spring semesters (after 4:00 on Fridays – 6:00 on Sundays) and all day in the summer.
  • Guest passes are valid for the date of purchase only, re-entry is permitted on that day but only when accompanied by RAC sponsor (receipt must be shown upon re-entry).
  • Guest passes are for facility access and any regularly scheduled, no-cost programming taking place in the RAC.
  • A guest cannot host another guest.
  • A guest is not eligible to participate in Intramural activities.
  • Sponsors must check out and are responsible for any equipment used by guests.
We believe that students, faculty and staff should strive to maintain a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. The Student Recreation Center opened in the summer of 2007. Here you can find everything you need to get healthy and stay happy – from treadmills to free weights to fitness trainers and group exercise classes.

Student Memberships

Main Campus Students

There is no additional cost for main campus students because they already pay Student Recreation fees each semester.

Online and Liberty Campus Students

Students taking online only or Liberty Center classes are not assessed Student Recreation fees each semester.

Student Spouse/Partner

This group is eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships for an individual that lives at the same address. This could be a spouse or partner of a currently registered student. This membership type must be paid for in advance at the Student Recreation Center.

  • $80 Summer Semester

Faculty/Staff Memberships

Full-Time Faculty/Staff

All full-time faculty/staff are eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships. They have the option of having this fee payroll deducted at the rate of $11 per month for 12-month employees or $13.20 per month for 10-month faculty.

Adjunct Faculty/Part-Time Staff/Retirees/Contractors

These employees are also eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships, but they must pay in advance.

Faculty/Staff/Retiree Spouse/Partner

This group is eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships for an individual that lives at the same address. This could be a spouse, partner, room mate, or child over 18. This membership type must be paid for in advance at the Student Recreation Center.

  • $245 Year
  • $90 Fall or Spring Semester
  • $80 Summer Semester
Alumni

This group is eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships if they are an active alumni that has registered through the Alumni Development Office (Individuals must make an annual charitable donation of $35 to the Alumni Development Office). This membership type must be paid for in advance at the Student Recreation Center.

Guest Passes

SRC Members may invite guests to use the SRC, and may host one guest during a single day. The guest pass covers one guest and expires at the close of the day it was paid. The SRC Member must accompany his or her guest at all times.

  • Guests must show a photo ID upon entering the SRC
  • Guests are subject to the same rules that govern SRC Members’ use of the SRC

The cost of the guest pass will be covered at a rate of $5.00 per day. Payment will be made at the front desk upon entry and only accepted after a valid form of ID is shown.


Payment of Membership Fees

Members may pay the Membership Fee:

  • with Pirate Cash, credit or debit card, at the SRC
  • by payroll deducation (full-time faculty and staff only)
  • in advance, for a term of one semester or one year. Payments are acceptable at the Bursar’s Office. The SRC cannot accept cash or checks.

Membership Fees cannot be prorated for partial semesters, and are non-refundable.

There will not be a refund of fees in the unfortunate event of the loss of recreational privileges.
