Wellness Week is hosted every year in the Spring, designed to help students improve their personal well-being through learning about the seven dimensions of Wellness. Students will be able to explore their own definition of wellness and learn how to create lifelong health habits. Highlights of the week include our guest speaker Kevin Breel, the LiveWell Fair, and Hot Wings, Hot Topics.

Monday, February 13th

Wellness Week Kickoff
11am-1pm, Rotunda
Kickoff Wellness Week with coloring, I love my selfie booth, Whalfies (Selfies with Wellie the Whaleness Whale), Wellness t-shirts and more!

Emotional Wisdom
4-5pm, Health Services
If you are dealing with stress, anxiety, or depression and want to learn or review emotional wisdom such as relaxation, mindfulness, cognitive tools to battle anxiety or depression, emotion regulation, and/or social anxiety, this is for you! Learn and practice exercises together to gain confidence using skills in your daily life to manage stress, anxiety, and depression. Participate at your level of comfort.
*You are not required to be a client of the Counseling Center.

Don’t Dis My Abilities with Adrian Peterson
7pm, Russell Union Ballroom
Adrian shares an inspiring story of overcoming obstacles and persevering. This story is for anyone whom has ever thought they were not capable enough, good enough or talented enough to reach for the stars.

Tuesday, February 14th

Memories to Munchies: What Science Says About Marijuana
12-1pm, Russell Union 2047
During this Workshop, you will discover what facts we know from the most current and up to date research on marijuana.

Health Hut
3-6pm, Recreation Activity Center
Visit the Wellness Ambassadors at the Health Hut to learn positive wellness behaviors so you can Be Whale Do Whale.

Heart Healthy Cooking Demonstration
6pm, Nessmith-Lane 1601

Wednesday, February 15th

Live Well Fair
10am – 2pm, Russell Union
Check out vendors from the local community, along with on-campus organizations for an exciting wellness experience. During the Live Well Fair, you will be able to take part in various activities such as healthy cooking demonstrations, health screenings, coloring and more!

Thursday, February 16th

Fresh Check Day
10am-2pm, Russell Union Ballroom
Fresh Check Day is a fair-like event that focuses on improving mental health of college students. Learn effective coping skills and ways you can play a part in decreasing stigma about mental illness.

Eagles & Easels
10pm, Williams Center Multipurpose Room
AOD will bring Free Spirit Pottery to campus and provide students with an opportunity to follow along with an instructor to create a GSU themed painting. We will educate students about campus and community resources they can get involved with instead of using substances in their free time.

Friday, February 17th
