Wellness Week is hosted every year in the Spring, designed to help students improve their personal well-being through learning about the seven dimensions of Wellness. Students will be able to explore their own definition of wellness and learn how to create lifelong health habits. Highlights of the week include our guest speaker Kevin Breel, the LiveWell Fair, and Hot Wings, Hot Topics.

Monday, February 5th

Wellness Week Kickoff
11am-1pm, Rotunda
Kickoff Wellness Week with coloring, I love my selfie booth, Whelfies, Wellness t-shirts and more!

Beach, Please
5-8pm, RAC
Join our beach party to learn how to have a healthy spring break! There will be a lot of fun and swag!

Tuesday, February 6th

Fresh Check Day
10am-2pm, Russell Union 2047
Fresh Check Day is a fair-like event that focuses on improving mental health of college students. Learn effective coping skills and ways you can play a part in decreasing stigma about mental illness.

Foam Roller Clinic
7pm, RAC Seminar Room
The session includes information on self-care, sleep and stress management, breathing, meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, as well as a myofascial release clinic. You will learn how to use foam rollers and tennis balls as an alternative medicine therapy for stress relief. Myofascial release can be help to promote better sleep as well as treat skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, releasing trigger points, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.

Adventure Movie Series: Who Owns Water
7pm, RAC Southern Adventures Center
David and his brother Michael recently completed Who Owns Water, a documentary film about the decades-old battle among Georgia, Alabama, and Florida for the rights to water from the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers. To document the clash, David and Michael spent a month paddling (and portaging) canoes from the Rivers’ headwaters to its terminus in the Gulf of Mexico. Here’s the little-known story about an intense struggle for water rights in the American South, an area once considered invincible to drought.

Wednesday, February 7th

Live Well Fair
10am – 2pm, Russell Union
Check out vendors from the local community, along with on-campus organizations for an exciting wellness experience. During the Live Well Fair, you will be able to take part in various activities such as healthy cooking demonstrations, meditation, health screenings, chair massages, laughing yoga, coloring and more!

Thursday, February 8th

Digital Detox Dance Party
9:30pm-12am, Bishop Fieldhouse
This dance party is all the rave! Enjoy dancing, board games, canvas painting, food, giveaways and more!

Friday, February 9th
