Southern Adventures helps students cycle their way to a healthy semester

On the first day of every new semester, students line up at the Southern Adventures Center at the RAC for the opportunity to be able to rent a Campus Cycle bike for the semester. The Campus Cycle program is a green bike initiative (which is ironic because we paint them blue) designed to provide students with an inexpensive, reliable and an environmentally friendly method of transportation around campus.

Every year, Southern Adventures takes ownership of abandoned bicycles around campus, refurbishes the chassis, replaces worn or broken parts, paints them blue and gives them a new lease on life. Students can rent these bikes for a semester for just $30 which includes the bike, free maintenance and labor.

Campus Cycle will return on January 8 for Spring Semester.
