Seventeen universities brought 64 players to Statesboro, GA to compete in this individual tournament. Georgia Southern’s, Jake Maples (-6) shot the low round on Monday to complete a come-from-behind victory over Andrew Orischak (-5) from the University of Virginia. The Georgia Southern course played tough over the weekend, with a total average score of 76.55. Only six players finished the tournament under par. The Eagles had four players in the top 16, including a fifth-place finish by Colin Bowles (-1).

“This was a great week for the team and gaining experience as we prepare further for the spring season. We are all very proud of Jake in earning his first college win and doing it by shooting the low round of the day was a great way to earn the victory,” said GS Men’s Golf Team Coach, Carter Collins.
