Fittest Eagle is an inclusive fitness competition designed to test athletes endurance, strength, and power. Split into male and female divisions, teams of two will race against their competitors to complete the individual events in the least amount of time for the chance to be crowned the Fittest Eagle!

Awards

Male and Female Divisions

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 team finishers in both the male and female division for four events.

Overall Event Winners

For each event, an overall male and female team winner will receive a framed poster award including the original poster design and respective placement information.


Event 1 – Thruster AMRAP

Event Type:

Timed AMRAP

Weight:

Females Barbell: 45 lbs.
Males Barbell: 75 lbs.

Instructions:

1. Athletes will start with a 0.67 mile run around the MC Anderson Fields.
2. Both athletes from each team will complete the lap.
3. Both athletes will spend the remaining time completing as many thrusters as possible.
4. Teams may not start thrusters until both teammates are at the bar.

Time Allotted:

8 minutes

Penalties:

For each rep to count, the athlete must front squat to parallel and complete a full overhead press at the top of the squat.

Event 2 – Team Row

Event Type:

Timed

Description:

1. This event is simple, the fastest team to complete the 1,500-meter row wins.
2. Each team will have 1 rower to complete the event.
3. Teammates can break up the 1,500 meters anyway they want to.

Time Allotted:

Capped at 15 minutes

Penalty:

If the team is not finished with the row within the 15-minute time frame, a penalty will be assessed.

Event 3 – Sled Pull & Lunge

Timed

Weight:

Females Lunge: 35lbs. Sled Pull: 70 lbs. (added to the sled) Males Lunge: 50 lbs. Sled Pull: 125 lbs. (added to the sled)

Distance:

50 Feet

Description:

1. Teams will complete six rounds of a 50-foot sled pull followed by walking lunges for 50 feet.
2. The walking lunges must be completed by the same teammate immediately following the sled pull.
3. The rounds will be split in half so each teammate completes three rounds for a total of 6 rounds.

Time Allotted:

Capped at 15 minutes

Penalties:

If the team is not finished with the event within the 15-minute time frame, a penalty will be assessed.
For each rep to count, the athlete must lunge with the back knee touching the ground.

Event 4 – Race to the Finish Chipper

Event Type:

Timed

Weight:

Females Barbell: 45 lbs. (for Front Squats & Sumo Deadlift to High Pull)
Males Barbell: 75 lbs. (for Front Squats & Sumo Deadlift to High Pull)

Instructions:

1. Our final event of the competition is a race to the finish!
2. This chipper style event is composed of 50 reps of 5 different exercises.
3. The event will start with 50 front squats, followed by 50 push-ups, followed by 50 sumo deadlifts to high pulls, followed by 50 step-ups, and finishing off strong with 50 burpees.
4. Teams can break up the reps any way they like, but all 50 reps of an exercise must be completed before moving to the next.
5. The winner of this event will be the team that completes it the fastest

Capped at 30 minutes

Penalty:

If the team is not finished with the event within the 30 minute time frame, a penalty will be assessed.
For each rep to count, it will be to the discretion of the judges.
