Eligibility

Must be able to demonstrate safe firearms handling and knowledge
of safety rules.

The objective of this course is to safely educate and expand on skills of using a semi automatic pistol learned in Firearms 101.  After a quick review and safety briefing, you will move into more advanced subjects.  You will learn to shoot from various ready positions as well as learning different types of sighted fire.  An emphasis will be placed on clearing malfunctions and stoppages that can occur during shooting.  On range times will include shooting from the new positions as well as simulated malfunctions and stoppages that will need to be cleared in order to continue shooting.  This class will provide the participant with drills that they can continue to practice on their own range time as well as at home. Targets will also be provided. Approximately 100 rounds of ammunition will be necessary and provided by the shooter for this course.

Registration

Register at the SSEC

  • Must register at least 48 hours in advance
  • A hands-on practical exam under the supervision of an SSEC
    official must be completed prior to registration.
