Summer RAC Memberships

At the end of each spring, there’s often confusion about summer RAC memberships.  Below are some of the more common questions we receive.

As always, you can stop by Member Services in the RAC or call 912-478-5436 if you have additional questions.

Can I workout in the RAC if I’m not taking classes?
Yes, if you are enrolled for the fall you may still purchase a RAC membership for summer regardless of whether you’re taking summer classes.

Simply stop by Member Services in the RAC to pay your RAC fee. Fees are $96 for the summer but prorated depending on when you join. Learn more about RAC Memberships.

I’m taking classes, can I use the RAC?

Yes and No. To be automatically charged a RAC fee in the summer you must be taking four (4) or more on campus hours. Online classes and/or hybrid classes will not automatically trigger the RAC fee.

If you are taking online classes you may still join the RAC but you will need to stop by Member Services in the RAC to pay your fee.

I’m taking classes, why is my RAC pass not working?
This could be for several reasons but most likely, you are enrolled in an online class or a hybrid class. RAC fees are not automatically charged to students who are enrolled in online, hybrid or internship courses.

Please stop by Member Services in the RAC so we can help.

I’m a faculty/staff of Georgia Southern, can I join the RAC?
Yes, please visit our RAC Membership page for more information on how to join or renew your RAC membership.
